Cookies
VRAISOI only sets the cookies it needs to work. None of them track you, so there is nothing to ask permission for.
Why there is no banner
A cookie banner asks for your permission to use cookies that are optional, such as the ones advertisers and analytics services use to follow you around the web. VRAISOI has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party cookies at all. Every cookie below is set by vraisoi.com itself, for something you asked it to do: stay logged in, finish signing up, reset a password or remember the look you chose.
The cookies
vraisoi_session- Keeps you logged in. It holds a short-lived token from our login provider. Lasts: About an hour, renewed while you use VRAISOI.
vraisoi_session_refresh- Renews the one above, so you are not asked to log in every hour. Lasts: 30 days, or until you log out.
vraisoi_session_pending- Remembers which address a sign-up code was sent to, without showing it in the address bar. Lasts: 30 minutes.
vraisoi_session_recovery- Lets you choose a new password after following a reset link. Lasts: 15 minutes.
vraisoi_theme- Whether you chose the light or the dark look, so the page opens in it. Lasts: A year.
What is kept in your browser
A few small things are kept in your browser’s own storage rather than in a cookie. They never leave your device.
- vraisoi.chapters.visitor
- Which pages of Chapters you have read while looking around without an account.
- vraisoi.discover.heard
- Whether you folded away the note on Discover about what it heard.
- A message you are writing to us
- Kept for this tab only, so a half-written message survives a closed popup. It is gone when the tab closes.
Turning them off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. VRAISOI will still open, but you will not be able to stay logged in, and the look will go back to light.
If this changes
If VRAISOI ever adds a cookie that is not needed for it to work, this page will name it first, and you will be asked before it is set. Questions go to privacy@vraisoi.com, and the rest of what we do with your information is in the privacy policy.
